When We Are Closed
To obtain medical advice when the surgery is closed, call NHS 24 on111
(Monday to Thursday from 18:00 – 08:00, Friday 18:00 until Monday 08:00).
Out of hours is now the responsibility of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
Your Local Pharmacist
Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time – you don’t need an appointment. Pharmacies operate a minor aliment service where they can prescribe some medicines for people who don’t normally pay for their prescriptions. Pharmacies can prescribe and dispense emergency contraception free of charge. Pharmacies also run smoking cessation services and can prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
